Abstract

the Research Highlights The Challenges Facing Rice Production In Egypt, Particularly In Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, Due To Rising Local Demand, Shrinking Cultivated Areas, Decreased Production, And Increased Imports. The Study Aims To Analyze The Current And Future Status Of Rice Production To Propose Solutions That Ensure A Balance Between Supply And Demand. Key Objectives Include Assessing Production And Consumption Trends (2005-2022), Evaluating Marketing Efficiency, Estimating Marketing Capacities, Developing A Future Marketing Vision To Secure Fair Pricing For Farmers, And Identifying Major Marketing Challenges. The Study Utilized Primary Data From A Field Survey Conducted During The 2023-2024 Agricultural Season And Secondary Data From Published And Unpublished Sources For The Period 2005-2022. Kafr El-Sheikh Center, The Largest In The Governorate With 35,000 Feddans Of Rice And 26,500 Farmers, Was Chosen For Its Significance. Findings Suggest The Need For Enhanced Focus On Rice As A High-Return, Export-Oriented Crop That Supports Foreign Currency Earnings. Recommendations Include Cultivating Water-Efficient Rice Varieties And Educating Producers On Optimal Input Usage To Minimize Waste, As Excessive Input Application Was Evident In The Sample. This Research Underscores The Importance Of Addressing Production And Marketing Inefficiencies To Stabilize Rice Supply And Ensure Profitability For Farmers. Achieving These Goals Requires Strategic Planning, Resource Optimization, And Farmer Education To Enhance Productivity And Market Outcomes
