Abstract

THE RESEARCH mainly aimed to study the economic role of electric energy in the agricultural sector by studying some of the following sub-objectives: the development of the amount of electrical energy sold in the electricity distribution company according to the purpose of obtaining electricity during the period (2009 - 2022), estimating the impact of electrical energy on the agricultural sector. During the period (2009-2022), the amount of electrical energy sold by the Electricity Distribution Company to the industrial sector in Egypt increased at a growth rate of about 1%. During the study period, the amount of electrical energy sold by the Electricity Distribution Company to the agricultural sector in Egypt increased at a growth rate of about 4.4%. During the study period, the total amount of electrical energy sold by the Electricity Distribution Company in Egypt increased at a growth rate of about 2.4%. During the study period, the amount of electrical energy has a positive impact on both net agricultural income and the value of Egyptian agricultural production. The results of the causality test indicate the existence of a relationship Causality goes from the amount of electrical energy in the agricultural sector to net agricultural income. It also became clear that there is a unidirectional relationship from the amount of electrical energy in the agricultural sector towards the total value of agricultural production.
