Satisfaction with certain aspects of the operation of craft and handicrafts industries in Fowa District, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the level of satisfaction with some aspects ofoperating craft and handicrafts industries in Fowa District, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. Additionally, it sought to identify the main obstacles facing the operation of craft and handicrafts industries, and to determine the relationship between certain personal and social variables and the level of satisfaction with aspects of operating this industry. The study adopted a social survey methodology using a stratified random sample of 176 respondents. Several statistical methods were used to analyze the data, including frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance using the SPSS program. The research revealed several findings, most notably that the respondents' satisfaction with aspects of operating craft and handicrafts industries was high, with a mean of 2.35. Satisfaction with the selling price of the product ranked first, while the diversity of markets for selling the product ranked last. There were significant differences in the mean of satisfaction with aspects of operating craft and handicrafts industries attributed to the difference in marital status in favor of married individuals, while there were no significant differences attributed to the difference in home type, educational level, and family size. The results also showed that the most significant obstacles facing craft and handicrafts industries are related to the driving power, training problems, and the availability of raw materials. Based on the results, a set of recommendations were proposed to promote craft and handicrafts industries.
