Training Program to Develop Extension Workers’ Knowledge of Recommendations cultivating sesame Crop At Kafrelsheikh Governorate

Abstract

This research mainly aimed to Design a training program to develop extension workers’ knowledge of recommendations for sesame crop cultivation At Kafrelsheikh Governorate. This is achieved through analyzing the personal and professional characteristics of the respondents. And to identify the level of knowledge need of the respondents regarding the recommendations for cultivating the sesame crop, and to propose a training program to develop the knowledge of extension workers, based on the results explained by the study. KafrelSheikh Governorate was chosen as a region to conduct this research. The number of agricultural association directors at the level of the ten governorate districts was limited to 248 directors representing the entire research population. The sample size was determined using the Krejci and Morgan equation table, so the research sample amounted to 151 respondents, and the sample members were chosen randomly. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: 1- About 93% of the respondents have high and medium knowledge training needs regarding the recommendations for cultivating the sesame crop. 2- Approximately 91% , approximately 93% About 94% and approximately 95%, of the respondents had high and medium cognitive training needs regarding the recommendations related to before planting the sesame crop, fertilization processes for the sesame crop, controlling pests and insects of the sesame crop, and harvesting the sesame crop, respectively.
