The Future Role of E-Media in Developing Farmers’ Awareness of Some Agricultural Crises at Kafrelsheikh Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the future role of electronic media in developing farmers’ awareness of some agricultural crises in Kafrelsheikh Governorate from point of view the researchers and extension workers. The numbers of populations were 60 researchers, and 56 workers. Then sizes of the two samples were 50 and 39 respondents, a simple random by the basket. They were collected using a personal questionnaire. Analyze of the data by: frequencies, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and t-test. The important results were: majority of the researchers and extension workers surveyed (97%) and (100%) had a high awareness degree of the future role of electronic media in developing farmers’ awareness of some agricultural crises, and this reflects their agreement on crystallizing this future role. There are several requirements for performing this role, as: following farmers’ trends so that they can draw electronic media plans in a correct manner, seeking honesty in the facts, information, and data related to agricultural crises, diversity, development, and suitability of electronic media material, using the skills of persuasion and influencing others in the field of agricultural crises, and promoting extension services through advertisements in the field of agricultural crises. The most important audio-visual artistic forms suitable for the electronic media to perform its role were: transmitting field visits to sites of agricultural crises, producing episodes in a play about agricultural crises, covering agricultural crises on satellite channels, conducting journalistic investigations about agricultural crises, and disseminating crisis information through social media.
