Extension Knowledge Needs of Greenhouse Farmers with Good Practices for Handling Vegetable Crop Products in El-Behira Governorate

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to identify the informational needs of greenhouse farmers with good practices for handling vegetable crops products in Beheira Governorate on a sample of 217 respondents. The most important results were summarized as follows: About 36% of respondents have a high total knowledge need with good practices for handling crops products Vegetables, and that about 53% of them have an average total cognitive requirement, while only about 12% of them have a total cognitive need low by these practices. The level of cognitive need for the subjects with good practices for handling vegetable crops products was as follows: a high level of need for polishing and waxing is 76.2%, and the level of need is medium for each of the transportation process 60.6%, the cleaning process 58.0%, and the packing process 53% , And the collection process was 52.5%, while the level of cognitive need was low by good practices for the sorting and grading process 47.6%, and the process of rapid initial cooling 45%. They are: Source of agricultural supplies dealers, with a weighted average of 2, 99 degrees, followed by neighbors with a weighted average of 2,90 degrees, then senior farmers with a weighted average of 2,89 degrees, followed by the source of family and friends with a weighted average of 2,87 degrees, then the vegetable crops specialist with a weighted average of 2.79 degrees.
