Attitudes of agricultural extension agents towards the use of information and communication technology in extension work in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed mainly at identifying the trends of agricultural extension agents by means of information and communication technology in the agricultural extension work in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. It consisted of 155 agricultural extension workers distributed according to the percentages of their presence in each center, and the data necessary to achieve the objectives of the research were collected using a personal interview questionnaire form. About 91% of the respondents had their attitudes towards using the mobile phone in extension work, and the results showed that about 86% of the respondents had their attitudes towards using the computer in extension work in support, and about 92% of the respondents had their attitudes towards using the Internet in extension work in support. And that about 81% of the respondents had their attitudes towards using the Misr Agricultural Channel in agricultural work in support, and that about 77% of the respondents had their attitudes towards using information and communication technology means in extension work neutral, and as the results indicate that the independent variables together explain about 47.3% of the variance in the dependent variable, based on the value of the coefficient of determination (R2).
