Abstract

This research aimed mainly at identifying the rural women's knowledge of the health importance and benefits of using some medicinal and aromatic plants in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate,The district of Kafr El-Sheikh was chosen randomly, and the village of elnataf randomly, on a sample of 132 female holders and the wife of a holder, and the necessary data to achieve the objectives of the research were met using a personal interview questionnaire form, and this was the use of percentages, the arithmetic mean, the standard deviation, and the simple correlation coefficient, And the coefficient of multiple regression. The most important results were that 91%, about 91%, about 83%, 89%, 89.5%, about 81%, about 90%, about 82%, about 83%, about 84%, of the respondents fell into the low and medium knowledge categories. With regard to knowledge of the health importance and benefits of using each of the plants: senna, licorice, chamomile, star anise, cumin, caraway, nigella, parsley, ginger, coriander, respectively, the results also showed that approximately 85% of the respondents were low and medium in knowledge of the health importance and benefits The use of some medicinal and aromatic plants combined, and the results indicate that the independent variables together explain 32.8% of the variance in the dependent variable based on the value of the coefficient of determination (R2).
