Planning an Extension Program for Development of the Rural Women’s in the Recycling Field Some Household Wastes at El- Riyad District, Kafrelsheikh Governorate

Abstract

Abstract
This research aimed mainly at planning an extension program to develop the knowledge of rural women in the household wastes recycling field at El-Riyadh district, Kafrelsheikh Governorate. This research was conducted at El- Riyadh district, and three villages from the twenty districts were chosen randomly. The random selection resulted in the villages of El-Wezariyah, El-Raseef and El-Aqoula. Some appropriate statistical methods were used, such as frequencies, percentage, mean, and standard deviation to process the research data. The most important search results were: It was found that 12.8% of the respondents came in the low degree of total knowledge of the possibility of recycling household wastes, 86.7% of them had a medium degree of total knowledge, and only 0.4% of them had a high degree of total knowledge. And in the order of household wastes groups according to the average percentage of the respondents’ knowledge of the possibility of recycling, the wooden wastes was 26.9%, then the metal wastes 34.7%, the paper wastes 36.8%, the glass wastes 42.3%, then the liquid wastes 43.1%, the clothing wastes 51.6%, and the plastic wastes 52.8%, and finally the food wastes 59.7%. It was found that there was a defined deficiency among the respondents in the possibility of recycling many wastes in the eight groups.
