Abstract

The production of rabbit meat in Egypt in recent years is increasing, and rabbit meat is widely consumed as a source of delicious and nutritious protein of high commercial value. And its high content of animal protein, which ranges between 22-25%, low cholesterol to about 0.25%, and high content of mineral salts. In addition to this, rabbits are used in the manufacture of medicine, where many medical drugs such as insulin and cortisone are used, which makes them one of the most appropriate foodstuffs. Therefore, it contributes to bridging the nutritional gap in the consumption of red meat in general and white meat in particular. Animal production is one of the main activities of the agricultural sector and its value is estimated at about EGP 187.37 billion, representing about 3.7% of the total value of agricultural production during 2019. Animals are of great interest, whether at the local or international level, due to the fact that they are the main source of animal protein, which is an essential element needed by the animal. For a person in different stages of his life, animal protein is included in the formation of the various tissues and organs of the body and rebuilding what is damaged from them. 70% goes to household consumption, and therefore this sector contributes to supporting the food security of the rural population in addition to being an additional source of income for the rural family. I should develop it as much as possible.
